About Otter Brook Sanctuary Trail
The Otter Brook Trail provides a peaceful 0.8-mile one-way journey through some of Windham’s most interesting ecological transitions. Though unmarked at the trailheads, the path is easily accessible from roadside pullouts and becomes well-marked with blue laminated signs once you’re on the trail.
Hikers should note that the trail follows the natural contours and conditions of the forest floor, which can be uneven throughout. The southern section is particularly prone to wet conditions during spring months, so appropriate footwear is recommended.
When hiking the northern section, pay special attention to trail markers where the path briefly follows snowmobile trails to ensure you remain on the correct route.
