Windham Community Park

Windham Community Park

The Windham Community Park is designed to offer something for all ages and is open free-of-charge to people living in Windham and the surrounding communities.  The current park is home to the Pat Moody Basketball Courts – two lighted basketball courts (also lined for pickleball) named in his memory in November of 2024.  The park also offers a concrete skate park,  two sand volleyball courts, and a 12 x 20’ picnic pavilion that provides three ADA compliant picnic tables for people of all abilities.

This location is also the site of the Windham Community Gardens, which is a volunteer non-profit organization whose mission is to garden following organic practices, provide affordable garden beds for growing healthy food and flowers, support a community of gardeners and help promote a green and sustainable Windham.   Applications are accepted for rental of garden bed each growing season.

Donnabeth Lipmann Park

Lippman Park encompasses 123 acres of pristine woodlands and wetlands surrounding a 10-acre pond. Purchased by the Town of Windham in May 2011 with the Town Council’s endorsement as a future Community Park, this property was formerly known as Chaffin Pond when leased from the Portland Water District.

The park currently features a looping trail around the pond ideal for hiking and snowshoeing, along with a Storybook Trail specially designed for young hikers. Fishing remains a popular activity, though live bait is prohibited. Other permitted activities include mountain bicycling, non-motorized boating, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. The Windham Parks & Recreation Department continues developing the existing trail system to expand public access throughout this natural area.

Visitors can reserve the Picnic Pavilion through the Windham Recreation website or by submitting a printed form to the Parks and Recreation office. Lawn games are available to rent when making a reservation. The park offers numerous amenities including ADA accessible features, benches, fishing areas, ice skating, picnic areas with tables, a playground, the Storybook Trail, swings, and hiking trails.

Dundee Park

Dundee Park serves as a cherished community resource for Windham residents, featuring an attractive beach and picnic area with outdoor grills along the picturesque Presumpscot River. The sheltered location and calm waters create an ideal environment for children to play and swim while families socialize. The park offers basketball and volleyball courts for additional recreation options.

On-site park managers are supported by staff attendants and community volunteers. While lifeguard coverage is provided during peak hours when possible, visitors should not rely on this service as a substitute for parental supervision. Experienced swimmers can enjoy the float for jumping and diving, though safety regulations prohibit those wearing life jackets from swimming in deep water.

The park prides itself on maintaining a beautiful and safe environment for all visitors, with accessible amenities including ADA facilities, basketball courts, benches, fishing areas, grills, picnic shelters and tables, restrooms, a swim beach, swings, and volleyball areas.
