Donnabeth Lipmann Park
Lippman Park encompasses 123 acres of pristine woodlands and wetlands surrounding a 10-acre pond. Purchased by the Town of Windham in May 2011 with the Town Council’s endorsement as a future Community Park, this property was formerly known as Chaffin Pond when leased from the Portland Water District.
The park currently features a looping trail around the pond ideal for hiking and snowshoeing, along with a Storybook Trail specially designed for young hikers. Fishing remains a popular activity, though live bait is prohibited. Other permitted activities include mountain bicycling, non-motorized boating, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. The Windham Parks & Recreation Department continues developing the existing trail system to expand public access throughout this natural area.
Visitors can reserve the Picnic Pavilion through the Windham Recreation website or by submitting a printed form to the Parks and Recreation office. Lawn games are available to rent when making a reservation. The park offers numerous amenities including ADA accessible features, benches, fishing areas, ice skating, picnic areas with tables, a playground, the Storybook Trail, swings, and hiking trails.
