Lowell DH Trail – Grand Opening for Donors & Partners

June 22

About This Event

Join Greater Portland NEMBA & partners to celebrate the opening of the new Scholl’s Col MTB trail hub and new Hung Down & Stove Up trails.

Join Greater Portland NEMBA and partners Presumpscot Regional Land Trust & the Town of Windham to celebrate the grand opening of the new Scholl’s Col MTB trail hub within Windham’s Lowell Preserve. This new zone will feature two downhill mountain bike trails served by its own climbing trail, and is the result of an incredible collaboration with PRLT & Windham, the genorosity of over 150 donors and grantors such as the Maine Mountain Bike Trail Fund, and the expertise of the professional trail builders from Mt. Abram Bike Park and Sanctuary Trails. This new hub will be named after the late Michael Scholl, a much-loved Greater Portland mountain biker.

We will meet in the Lowell Preserve trailhead parking lot (where the fire station is) at 5:00 pm, and will plan to gather, whether traveling by foot or bike, at the top of the Stove Up climbing trail by 6:00 pm. There attendees will hear from a few of the leaders of this incredible project along with the Scholl family before officially opening the Hung Down downhill trail to the public for the first time.

This is a private event for donors to the trail project and essential partners. We hope to see you there, and will provide more logistics information closer to the event.
